How often should I have my chimney cleaned?
The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) recommends annual chimney inspections and cleaning as needed. If you use your fireplace regularly (more than a cord of wood per season), you should have it cleaned annually. Occasional users may be able to go every 2 years, but an annual inspection is always recommended to catch issues early.
